The SRR Specialty Retail Hall of Fame Awards are the only awards that recognize outstanding individuals in the specialty retail industry for their contributions and accomplishments to this segment of retail.

Each year at SPREE, leaders and innovators in the specialty retail industry are recognized and entered in to the SRR Hall of Fame for their outstanding contribution to the industry. Specialty Retail Report is launching this unique, never-before available education program for specialty leasing professionals to learn the industry’s best practices and receive a certificate and special designation at completion. The new program will be launched at SPREE in Las Vegas beginning on April 11, 2011 as part of the 1st Annual Specialty Leasing Summit.

Working in conjunction with an advisory panel of leaders in the specialty retail leasing industry, Specialty Retail Report has developed this intensive professional development program designed to provide consistent, affordable, easily accessible, professional development to specialty leasing professionals nationwide. “We saw that specialty leasing professionals had no training program like this available to them and after speaking with our industry’s leaders decided now is the time to offer one,” says Patricia Norins, Publisher of Specialty Retail Report.

The Specialty Leasing Designation Program is ideal for those new to specialty leasing that want to learn the industry’s best practices from its leaders in order to kick-start their career or for those already in the industry that would like to learn new tools and best practices to take their careers to the next level. The program’s instructors are top notch experts and veterans of the specialty leasing industry with a passion for professional development. “The consensus of our Designation Advisory Committee members was that we needed to offer a program such as this to train and develop industry leaders,” says Duffy Weir, Training Director for Specialty Retail Report.

The Specialty Leasing Designation Program will contain courses in six main subject areas: Legal, deal-making, sales and marketing, sponsorship, retail and documentation.  In order to receive a certificate and designation, students will need 36 credits of education and the entire program can be completed in as little as one year; however, most students will likely take between one and two years to complete the program, says Weir.  For those that would prefer to take it slow, courses will be ongoing throughout the year and students can pick the pace that suits them best.

The program will host its first class sessions as part of the Specialty Leasing Summit to kick-off SPREE beginning on April 11, 2011. Participants can earn up to 12 credits toward the 36 total credits just by attending all of the sessions of the Specialty Leasing Summit.
